​Responsibilities in the role
  • Produce steering documents for BIM tactics based on steering documents for BIM strategy

  • Compile coordination model

  • Lead BIM coordination meetings

  • Review deliveries based on information content and quality

  • Responsible for BIM methodology coordination, i.e.:

    • Anchor working methods during the design around how the requirements are to be worked into the model and database on an ongoing basis for the various designers

    • Prepare methodology descriptions and inform about methodology

    • Explain the conditions for good cooperation based on the requirements. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the requirements are met with the right quality. The information depends on the stage the project is in.

    • The BIM coordinator is given the mandate to demand that the project's instructions are followed.

    • The BIM coordinator role can be compared to the traditional model or CAD coordinator role. However, the BIM coordinator role is considerably more extensive and more deeply rooted in the project.

It is part of the BIM coordinator's operational role to, for example
  • establish and manage a joint project coordination model that describes the existing facility, surroundings and projected material. The coordination model is used to support planning, fact-checking and collision control. It can also be the basis for a VR model.

  • continuously support the project/project managers in 3D and BIM matters.

  • to be a "pilot" for the coordination model at work meetings and joint review meetings and to document review views in the model at these meetings. Together with the VDC manager, ensure that the project has access to the city's updated coordination model.

  • jointly with the city's VDC manager set up routines and ensure that the exchange of model and coordination files between our and the city's projectors works smoothly.

  • quality control model deliveries from projectors.

  • carry out training efforts of project members, designers and contractors within BIM

  • plan and implement training efforts of external and internal resources regarding the review of models.

  •  be ongoing support in the review work of information models for both external and internal resources.

  • act as BIM coordinator for the projects within the program that do not have the role of BIM coordinator in the planning organization.

  • lead, coordinate, and follow up the BIM coordinators of all the program's design organizations in order to achieve a uniform working method for the program.

  • report to the Project Leaders and coordinate with others in the project.

  • participate in project-related meetings to receive information about the progress of the business
